J.H. Rudolph & Co., Inc., A CRH Company, received the Asphalt Pavement Association of Indiana’s (APAI) Quality Pavement Award for a paving project at North Posey Junior Senior High School in Poseyville, Indiana earlier this month at the Association’s Awards Luncheon.  The project was recognized as the winner in the Governmental Construction category.

Kirsten Pauley, APAI Executive Director, commented, “we salute your employees and your company for your participation in this worthwhile and meaningful effort to recognize contractors, owners, and designers of these asphalt projects and showcase the very high quality work our industry performs for their customers.”

Bryan Rucker, Senior Estimator & Project Manager at J.H. Rudolph & Co., Inc. accepted the award on behalf of the company and paving crews responsible for the pristine pavement placed at the high school in July of 2019, just before the start of school.  Rucker thanked the Association and members in attendance for the opportunity and recognition of our team’s hard work.

“APAI is a valuable industry partner that we are thankful to be a member of,” mentioned Chad Hubert, Vice President at J.H. Rudolph & Co., Inc. “This award is a testament to the dedication and top-notch service our employees deliver, day in and day out, from the plants who produce our asphalt, to the drivers who deliver it, and everyone in between.”  Hubert further noted, “we are also extremely fortunate to have experienced and knowledgeable paving crews who worked above and beyond to meet our customer’s intensely tight deadline to be ready by the start of school.”

J.H. Rudolph Receives National Award for EVV Airport Project

Tuesday, March 17th, 2015

J.H. Rudolph & Co., Inc. was recently awarded a 2014 Quality in Construction Award from the National Asphalt Pavement Association for excellence in construction of an asphalt pavement for work done on Runway 4-22 at Evansville Regional Airport last summer.  “Quality pavements are something every road builder strives to construct. We want to build pavements that deliver on the promise of high performance and drivability for the public,” said William C. Ensor III, NAPA 2014 Chairman. “Projects that earn a Quality in Construction Award have been measured against industry best practices designed to live up to that promise. I’m proud to say that, in earning a 2014 QIC Award, J.H. Rudolph & Co. Inc. has met or exceeded these rigorous quality standards.”

Aerial Long Shot_May 30 2014Work on Runway 4-22 included rehabilitation, reconstruction and new construction, as well as green paving techniques incorporating 25 percent recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) into the base and intermediate mixes. A compact, smooth pavement was achieved on the runway seven (7) days ahead of schedule by paving with multiple laydown techniques and employing strict quality control. “Each of our projects are high priority, but with the Runway Improvement project, we were given the opportunity to showcase what we do best: lay top quality asphalt in the most efficient and effective manner possible,” commented J.H. Rudolph & Co. Inc. Chief Executive Officer Tim Mulzer.  “We finished the project seven (7) days early, a feat that wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of our dedicated employees.  This project was definitely a win-win for everyone involved and we were thrilled to be a part of it.”

The National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) is the only trade association that exclusively represents the interests of the asphalt producer/contractor on the national level with Congress, government agencies, and other national trade and business organizations. NAPA supports an active research program designed to improve the quality of asphalt pavements and paving techniques used in the construction of roads, streets, highways, parking lots, airports, and environmental and recreational facilities. The association provides technical, educational, and marketing materials and information to its members; supplies product information to users and specifiers of paving materials; and conducts training courses. The association, which counts more than 1,100 companies as members, was founded in 1955.

JHR Gets a Brand New Shuttle Buggy

Monday, April 5th, 2010

J.H. Rudolph & Co., Inc. recently purchased a brand new Shuttle Buggy for the 2010 Paving Season.  Shuttle Buggies are an essential part of J.H. Rudolph’s asphalt operations, creating quality paving projects with a smooth, quiet pavement result.  What is a Shuttle Buggy?  The Shuttle Buggy acts like a mobile surge hopper on asphalt paving jobs.   Trucks dump mix into the Shuttle Buggy, which stirs the asphalt mix and conveys it to the paver hopper.
